Update on Mother's Gilt
Well, it turns out it wasn't me that made Reid sick. He did get the bug, the puke and poop bug! So, as bad as this may seem I am happy that he got it, just to know it wasn't me. Andy still has put the kibosh on my experimental feeding practices, well at least when he is around...... I am very worried that I will have a picky child and everyday it STRESSES me out. I can not explain to you why I feel this way, but I am working on it. Heaven for bid, it wouldn't be the end of the world if he didn't like mushrooms, it wasn't a deal breaker for Andy and I when we started dating. Although I did ponder it! I just couldn't see past that fact that he didn't respect the best fungi in the universe!! Oh well, its been great ever since, I just eat his share! Again, compromise!
Just thought I would let you know that the little guy is doing good now. We had our play date today and he was hamming it up with the ladies! Such a flirt! He did Andy proud, Reid was really smiling and flirting with his boss!

A mother's gilt.
Yesterday evening and last night, Reid has been throwing up, and I am to blame. Yesterday evening I feed him some things I maybe should not have. Let me preface this by saying Reid loves food, and he loves ALL food! I have yet to find something that this child does not like. So far, the only thing that he is not crazy about is strawberries, but he is coming around. So, last night I decided to saute some fresh spinach and puree up for him, (which I have done before), but this time I thought, hmm lets put some ricotta cheese with it. He LOVED it and gobbled it all down! He was screaming for more and I had none, so I looked in the fridge and saw some hummus that Andy had made a couple of nights before and decided to give him some of that. Andy had given him a spoon full earlier in the week and liked it, so I thought, no worries, I will just give him more of that. So, eventually Reid was full and it was time for a bath. Andy was at the gym, so I gave him a bath. As soon as I got his jammies on the barfing (excuse the horrible sound of that word, but it fits the story the best), began, spinach and all! I am not for sure if it was the combination of food he consumed or the several dunks in the tub (mouth full of water), or all of the above, that started a night of changing sheets. So, I changed his clothes, nursed him then put him to bed. A couple of hours later, Andy went in to check on the screaming baby and the crib sheet and Reid's face and head were covered in what looked like pesto! So we cleaned up, nursed and held him on the couch for an hour, then he fell back a sleep. Five hours later, he woke up again to a face full and dirty crib and walls. So since 5:00am this morning, he has kept everything down, we are just giving him a little milk at a time so it does not come back up. You would think he would be really upset, but he is as happy as a clam, with no temperature or crankiness. We are just worried about dehydration and monitoring him closely, but so far he is great! He still wants to eat and play, but we are trying to keep the jumping and rough housing to a minimum until he can go several feedings keeping everything down.
I feel horrible that I contributed to his upset stomach, but am I glad that he acts like nothing is wrong. That makes me feel a little better about the whole situation.

Keeping up with the little man!
Just trying to keep up with Reid, he is a mover and a shaker! His personality is really starting to come through! Lets hope he is like his dad, pretty easy going and patient, but outgoing like his momma! When I take him to the gym, he has no problem going to anyone that reaches for him, I hope he stays that way! He is a pretty happy baby, hardly ever fusses and is easily amused, this he gets from mom and dad! I sat him up on Andy's bike yesterday and he just smiled so big! Maybe he will follow is his dads footsteps and become a cyclist as well!
Andy is starting his training for another Ironman this September in Wisconsin, so pretty soon, we will start seeing less and less of him. Hopefully once the weather lets up, Andy can push him in the stroller while he is jogging or I can follow Andy on the bike and Reid and Obie can ride along in the bike trailer! Now that is a photo op! Obie and Reid in the trailer, so cute! I can see it now, lots of kisses from Obie and lots of hair pulling from Reid! That's all these two get done doing.
Everyone getting kisses from Obie!
