Updates

First things first, the day after I posted about Reid's accomplishments, he decided that was not enough and rolled over in his crib that night while sleeping, mind you he is only 2 1/2 months! He was screaming unusually loud, so Andy went in to check on him and found him on his stomach with his arms straight out lifted off the crib and legs extended straight out flailing about. The next morning we decided to put him on his stomach to see if he could roll back over and sure enough within a few seconds he was back on his back! I guess it is from all the Olympic gymnastics he has been watching on TV. Since he was born in the year of the Olympics, he will be the perfect age to compete! We have already started his training!!!!!
Andy is racing in the Chicago Triathlon this weekend along with 8000 other athletes. If you get a chance, wish him good luck! He is pretty nervous, since he has not been able to train as much as he would like.
Andy also just got the news that he was accepted into the Northwestern Masters of Engineering program for the fall of 2009! Woohoo!
Lastly, I just finished my first bike race since Reid was born! Oh yes, I rode a whopping 1/4 mile to the grocery store yesterday, AND BACK! Lugging mustard, bread, 1/2 pint of heavy cream, 1/2 gal of OJ and a 1/2 gal of pomegranate juice. WHEW!! In a record time of 12:00 minutes flat, with minimal sweating. What, you didn't think that I was not going to give myself credit for accomplishing something!

Reid's Accomplishments

Let me tell you all the things that I can do that impresses mommy and daddy so much.

Smile, (of course you all know that, from all the pictures).

Laugh out loud (when mommy dances and tries to sing songs, I won't tell her that she is not on key, I think she already knows because she laughs at herself).

Babble ( I do a lot of this, especially when daddy gets home from work, I tell him about my day and what stocks to buy, and reported from daddy to diversify).

Follow Obie with my eyes (he is hard to keep up with, but I try).

Hold my head up (from lying and resting on a pillow, it wears me out quickly so I do not like to do it very long).

These last things I do the most, but I am not as proud of.

DROOL

Pass Gas

BELCH (this one really gets mommy and daddy laughing).

All for now, I am sure I am forgetting something but until then Adios Muchachas!

My voice was heard!!!!!

Well, at least I believe that I played a part in the smallest way today! The bill was put into law today regarding phthalates and lead in children's products! My ranting did pay off. If you remember my post from several months ago about plastics and the harmful chemicals they contain, today President Bush approved the law that bans more than trace amounts of those harmful materials in products that are targeted to 12 year olds and lower. However, I really believe that it should be banned period for any age, but it is one battle at a time. Check our scrolling Recall banner to find out more.

Back Home Again

My girlfriends and our babies. Ali with Amelia (5 months), Jamie with Wilson (16 months), Me with Reid (2 1/2 months) and Erin with Brady (6 months).
Hadley (my niece) feeding Reid.

Talyn, (my niece) holding her little cousin Reid.

Ok, I lied. I thought I would be able to post while we were in Ohio, but between visiting all my friends and family, canning green beans and pickles and having a mental breakdown, I ran out of time. Oh well, you all survived without a post, and I thank you for not asking for updated pictures!

Reid and I enjoyed our visit with all our family and friends. I got to see several friends that I had not seen since I was pregnant. It was wonderful spending time with all of you and catching up on your lives. Thanks again.
I will post more pictures once I get them. Brian, our family photographer, is going to email me some photos. I might as well not take any pictures when Brian is around, since his our 20X better than any of mine.
Keep checking for more photos.....
