Nursery Photos
Since we are very anxious for this baby to arrive, we thought we would share some photos of the nursery. Once the baby comes and we know the gender and personality we will add more decor and color to the walls and make it more specific to the little one.
I (Kari) will also have to post a picture of the changing station that my Dad and Brothers made for me once it arrives from Ohio. I found the blueprints in a Lowes quarterly mailing the week after we found out we were expecting and decided that is how we would tell my parents that we were having a baby. I showed the picture to my dad and told him that is what I wanted him to make me for my 30th birthday. For those of you that don't know my Dad is very good at iron/metal work, so when we showed a picture of the wooden changing table/bar server (after the kids), he said, "I don't do wood". After a minute of looking at the picture my mom then FINALLY realized what we were telling them!
So since my dad "doesn't do wood", both my brothers chipped in to help. Ryan timbered the wood and cut it down into boards. Chris then cut, sanded, and framed the cabinet, and Dad helped with the final assembly. Mom and dad then stained and varnished it. We are both so excited to see it, knowing my mom and brothers, they are all perfectionist, I know it will be just beautiful!!!

These two pictures are tapestries from Andy's childhood that were made for him when he was born in Bogota, Columbia. His parents had them framed a couple of years back and we thought, that the perfect place to hang them would be in the nursery.

This little swivel/rocker chair, Andy bought at a yard sale back when he was in high school, has been great throughout these years, I thought it would be the perfect fit for the nursery with new fabric. I bought some material and was going to upholster it myself, then I wised up and decided that taking it to have it done would be so much easier. Crawling around on the floor and measuring and cutting, didn't sound fun for a pregnant mama.

LOVE IT. Before you know it a crying, poopy baby :) will be in there. I'm terrible, I should say a beautiful sleeping baby...
You'll wish sleeping, but definitely beautiful! It is a beautiful bed. I also had the honor of seeing the changing table this weekend. Your brothers and dad did a great job of making it. We sure do have a talented family! Hope you're feeling well and hanging in there. Sorry Kar, but I think you'll be a little bit past due- by 3 or 4 days. Maybe she (I'm holding out for you) will be born on Grandma and Grandpa's anniversary. I don't think she'll be so late that her birthday will be on mine!
Yes, I am almost definite that I will be past due. My original due date was May 10th, but from both ultrasounds they have told me May 13th. I wanted an April baby,"diamonds are a girls best friend", but most likely I will have to start buying emeralds. You never know, it could be on your birthday!!!
